Details about the 2015 Youth Art Competition

How many entries can I submit?

You can submit as many entries as you like but there is a $10 application fee for every three jpeg images submitted.

Do I have to send in my actual piece of art?



All entries are submitted as jpegs and then the winners and runners up will be asked to submit their art for display during the Annual Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference in the summer.  All jpegs should be submitted to Lheaphy@kent.edu.

Are there any size limitations for the art or mediums not accepted?
 

Entries must be clearly titled and should not exceed 300 DPI. Traditional art mediums accepted. All entries must be "by the hand of the artist." No videos or other electronically produced work, please.

What is the deadline?

​

Deadline for all entries to be received is June 30, 2015.  Winners will be notified within three weeks of the deadline.  Winners will be responsible for shipping their art and return shipment; and for sending a biography/photo of themselves and a short description of the winning piece for publicity and display purposes.  Publicity for artists will include facebook, website, t-shirts, and more.

 

How do I pay?

​

Checks are made out to SABR and sent to Leslie Heaphy, KSU at Stark, 6000 Frank Rd, North Canton, OH 44720.  Memo line --art contest.  You can also go to the SABR website and pay there using donation section and indicate it is for art contest.
